Notes for CATHERINE R. MILLS:

CATHERINE R MILLS BARTON was born in Hickman County,KY, March 21,1857, and departed this life at her home in Esther, MO, Feb 8,1920, aged 62 years,10 months and 28 days.

She was married to T M Barton Aug 3,1876, and to this union 12 children were born, all of whom were at the funeral and were present at the time of her death.  Her husband preceded her in death 1 year, 2 months and 1 day.

Mrs Barton professed religion a number of years ago and united with the Salem Methodist Church, and died in the faith she had lived.  Her children are: Mrs Geo Humphrey of near Farmington, Mrs Felix Campbell of Herculaneum,MO, Joe Stam of Leadwood, Roy, Albert and Peter of St. Louis, Minnie, Katie, Hazel and Anna and Duke of Esther.  She leaves three brothers, S P Mills of St.Louis, C B and W P Mills of Farmington.

Her funeral was conducted by Rev J P McDonald assisted by Rev Roy Johnson at the Three Rivers church Tuesday, Feb 10th.  Interment at the Three Rivers Cemetery.

Obit:

Mrs.Sarah Alice Barton Mills, wife of Richard Mills, died at her home in the southern part of Farmington, yesterday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock.  She had been ailing for several years and had been confined to her bed for the past six months.  She was 57 years, 5 months and 24 days of age. The funeral service will be held at the Three Rivers Church the afternoon of Easter Sunday at two o'clock, and will be conducted by Rev. Frank P Jernigan, of Farmington.  Two relatives of Mrs.Mils died and were buried on the two previous Easter Sunday, the first of them, two years ago,the other, a year ago.

    The deceased woman was the daughter of the late T.M. and Sarah Lucas Barton. She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Mrs.Claud Santee and Mrs.Henry Hudson, of Farmington, one brother, Frank Barton, of Route Two,Farmington, and five half-brothers and five half-sisters, whose names we did not procure.

   The News extends sympathy to the bereaved.
