Lineage I has two clear branches, as defined by the result at marker CDYb.  We call these the "Colonial Branch" and the "Lancashire" branch.  

The Colonial Branch can be further subdivided into the "Maryland Branch" and the "Virginia Branch".  (It is possible that some of the families in the Colonial branch migrated at a later time and are not directly descended from the Colonial Maryland & Virginia families. )
