Jane (Jenny) Cornah
NAME: Cornah, Cornal, Cornall, Corney, Corniss. AKA: Jane, Jenny, Janet, Jennet.
VOID: Margaret Whalley line: MARRIAGE-SEARCH: Margaret Wally (Whalley) versus Jane (Jenny) Cornah: The questions of who is the correct mother of our Thomas Barton has been addressed: (1) Henry E. Christiansen, Supt., Genealogical Society, LDS Church, wrote to Clinton W. Barton, 8 Dec 1950: The problem of Thomas Barton and Jenny Cornal or Margaret Whalley as his wife or wives, has been cleared up. From the evidence collected it tends to prove that there were two Thomas Bartons, one whose mother was Margaret and the second whose mother was Jane. Your line follows Jane (Jenny) Cornah. (Year 1950).
RESEARCH 2000: We agree with above statement. Thomas Barton married Jane Cornah 15 Jun 1795, St. Helens Church, Garstang, England.
AGE-VARIANCE: Jane was christened 21 Apr 1771, married in 1795; died in 1847. If dates are accurate Jane died at age 76, not age 83 as reported on her burial certificate. RESEARCHER: Edna Jones, professional researcher, Salt Lake City, Utah, indicates the age is within range of acceptability. UPDATE: 2 May 2001.
Professional researcher Edna Jones, Taylorsville, Utah, sponsored by Dean Barton, Draper, Utah. UPDATE: 22 Feb 2002.
