Descendants of Geoffrey BARTON

Notes

2. Gilbert BARTON

Date: 1211-1212: Grant from Gilbert son of Geoffrey of Barton to Adam his brother of land in Barton that had belonged to Ranulf of Kidsnape. There is no evidence to show whether Walter, successor to Gilbert was the son of Gilbert or of his brother Adam. However, since Geoffrey gave such a major grant of land to his brother Adam, it is likely that Gilbert had no male heirs and that Walter was the son of Adam.
