HISTORICAL SOCIETY REUNION OF THE WILLIS BARTON FAMILY WELCOME Terry Barton, President, presided and opened the meeting with a welcome. BHS officers were introduced. Terry also asked for volunteers. SECRETARY'S REPORT Shirley Keith, Secretary, passed copies of the 2004 minutes and they were approved. TREASURER'S REPORT Mary Barton, Treasurer, gave the treasurer's report and it was approved. As of July 11, 2005 Total Assets $3,441.32 ANNOUNCEMENTS Bette Pitman announced that the 2006 Barton Historical Society Meeting will be August 4-6, 2006 at the Tyger Baptist Church in Tigerville, SC. Terry announced that the 2007 reunion is open for suggestions. RECOGNITIONS Terry expressed thanks to P.J. Gossett and Nancy Carman for their work in bringing the reunion together. Also, thanks was expressed to Debby Black for her 30 years of Barton genealogical work and "Barton Quest". NOMINATIONS There were no new nominations for officers. Current officers were reelected. Terry Barton, President; Dr. Richard Barton, Vice President; Shirley Keith, Secretary; Mary Barton, Treasurer. NEW BUSINESS Mary Barton asked again that a decision be made about renewal dates for membership in the Society. A motion was made that it be done on a yearly magazine subscription type basis with one free newsletter. The motion was seconded and approved. Bette Pitman suggested that we have Family Dues for $30.00 and Single Dues for $20.00. Motion was made, seconded and approved. Bette also sugested that each Barton line attending the annual BHS meetings give a short report. Motion was made, seconded and approved. CLOSING The meeting was adjourned. Respectfully submitted,
