The Barton Historical Society 2012 East Texas Reunion
Longview, Texas -- April 19-22, 2012.
The Reunion Committee has secured a block of rooms at the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Longview for $82 per night.
Saturday meeting in the Wingate. (Meals are not included except where noted)
APRIL 19 (Thursday)
Arrival to the Wingate by Wyndham Hotel in Longview, Texas.
Registration Table in the lobby, beginning at 10 am
Hospitality Room will be open at 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm

APRIL 20 (Friday)
6:00 am-8:00 am Complimentary Breakfast Buffet at the Hotel (for hotel guests only)
8:00 am-9:30 am Depart Hotel via Motor Coach for Marshall for story telling about J. Benjamin Barton by Cousin Evelyn Banda. (“J. Benjamin” is Evelyn's Great-Grand-father and was hanged returning from a trip!)
10:00 am-11:15 am Arrive at Gregg County Historical Museum in Longview (fee included)
11:30 pm-12:30 pm Depart the museum for the Danville Cemetery. Visit the little community where most of the Barton's settled.
12:45 pm-3:00 pm Depart for the New London Museum and Tea Room where will have a catered lunch (fee and lunch included)
3:15 pm-4:30 pm Depart New London to Kilgore to visit the East Texas Oil Museum. Tour guided by our own Cousin Evelyn Banda
4:30 pm-5:00 pm Visit “The World's Richest Acre” where 2.5 million barrels were pumped
5:00 pm-5:30 pm Return to the hotel

9:00 am BHS MEETING begins in Meeting Room at the Hotel; Welcome guests and members
10:00 am-10:15 am Coffee Break
10:15 am-11:30 am Barton DNA Project report
11:30 am-1:00 pm Lunch on your own
1:00 pm-2:00 pm Presentation of new Barton's and their presentations.
2:00 pm-2:30 pm Coffee Break
2:30 pm-3:00 pm Keynote Speaker: Van Craddock, Author of Longview (Postcard History) and Historian
3:15 pm-5:00 pm Business Meeting
7:00 pm Dinner at local Restaurant - "Dutch Treat" (Location TBD)
